Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated June 8, 2026
Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ('AUP') sets out the rules for using MudCrab Labs software and services. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Using our software means you agree to this policy.
Our tools are hardware identity and serial ID utilities designed for legitimate technical purposes. We take misuse seriously and will act swiftly to enforce this policy.
Permitted uses
Our software is built for the following lawful purposes:
Privacy and anonymity: protecting your hardware identity from tracking by software, services, or data brokers.
Security research and testing: conducting authorised penetration testing, vulnerability research, or forensic analysis on systems you own or have explicit written permission to test.
Virtualisation and sandboxing: isolating virtual machine environments, maintaining clean test environments, or preventing cross-environment hardware fingerprinting.
Software development and QA: testing how applications respond to different hardware configurations, reproducing hardware-specific bugs, or validating licensing systems you own.
System administration: managing multiple devices or environments for technical or professional purposes.
You are solely responsible for ensuring your specific use falls within applicable laws and the terms of any third-party service you access.
Prohibited uses
You may not use our software for any of the following:
Illegal activity: any use that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
Identity fraud or impersonation: misrepresenting your hardware identity to deceive another person, institution, financial service, or government body in a way that causes harm.
Circumventing ban systems: using the software specifically to evade a ban, suspension, or restriction imposed on you by a game developer, publisher, platform operator, or anti-cheat provider. We do not market our software for this purpose and do not support this use.
Violation of third-party terms: intentionally using our software to breach the terms of service, end-user license agreement, or acceptable use policy of any third-party game, platform, or service when doing so causes harm to others or exposes MudCrab Labs to liability.
Facilitating harm: assisting others in conducting any activity that is itself prohibited under this policy.
Cheating in online games: using the software as a component of a broader cheating toolkit to gain an unfair advantage in online multiplayer games in ways that harm other players' experience.
Unauthorised access: gaining or facilitating unauthorised access to systems, networks, or accounts that you do not own or have explicit authorisation to access.
Harassment or abuse: using our software in connection with harassing, stalking, threatening, or abusing any individual.
Resale and redistribution: selling, lending, sublicensing, or otherwise redistributing our software or your license to any third party.
Reverse engineering: decompiling, disassembling, or reverse engineering the software, or attempting to extract its source code, except to the extent expressly permitted by law.
Bypassing licence protection: attempting to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any license validation, activation, or anti-piracy mechanism.
No guarantee of outcome
MudCrab Labs makes no representation or warranty that our software will be effective against any particular anti-cheat system, detection mechanism, game engine, or platform at any point in time. The technical landscape changes continuously, and compatibility or effectiveness with any specific system cannot be guaranteed.
Any decision to use our software in a context where detection would have consequences is made entirely at your own risk.
Your sole responsibility
You are solely responsible for all consequences arising from your use of our software. This includes, without limitation: bans or suspensions imposed by game developers or platform operators; legal action taken against you by third parties; regulatory investigations or penalties; and any financial or reputational harm you suffer.
MudCrab Labs accepts no liability for consequences arising from your use, regardless of whether your use was permitted or prohibited under this policy. The existence of permitted uses does not mean any particular use is risk-free.
Enforcement
We monitor for abuse and take reports seriously. Violations may result in immediate and permanent suspension or revocation of your license without notice and without refund.
We cooperate fully with lawful requests from law enforcement and competent authorities. Where we become aware of use that may constitute a criminal offence, we may proactively report it to the relevant authorities.
Disputes about enforcement decisions are handled at our sole discretion. A revoked license does not entitle the user to a refund.
Reporting abuse
If you become aware of misuse of our software or services, contact us at hello@mudcrab.co with as much detail as possible. We take all abuse reports seriously.
